ABBA, The Beatles, Beach Boys – and much more!
From 12:00 to 13:00, the Freie Jugendorchesterschule Berlin presents a lively and diverse orchestral concert in the atmospheric courtyard of Neue Bühne Friedrichshain, titled:
“Wir können auch anders” (“We can do it differently”)
Look forward to young musical talents from our youth and junior orchestras performing works by Andreas Frey, Benedikt Brydern, and legendary songs from pop history – from ABBA and the Beatles to the Beach Boys!
Founded in 2011 by Martina Feldmann, the orchestra school has since become an award-winning project known for its creative and dedicated approach to music education. What started with just three children has grown into a large and vibrant ensemble. In 2024, the school received the Music School Prize awarded by the bdfm.
Under the direction of Jobst Liebrecht, who has led the orchestra from the beginning, many of his compositions have been performed for the very first time, significantly shaping the ensemble’s repertoire. Alongside classical works, the school also embraces contemporary music and film scores – showing how rich and alive orchestral music can sound today.
And there’s more to come: the courtyard program continues with more concerts and performances throughout the day – drop by, stay awhile, and enjoy a full day of live music!
