Fête de la Musique Berlin.

The #FETEBerlin is happening. There’ll be music in stream – and with luck outside too!

We are prepared and have gathered a lot of experience in 2020 on how to make the Fête de la Musique happen even in pandemic times: We are starting to plan the Fête 2021 as a streaming festival with the hope that we will also be able to dance and sing together in the summer.

Kick-off Party 2021

Two is better than one: On 20th June the kickoff party, on 21st the #FETEBerlin.

In 2018 and 2019, we introduced the tradition of celebrating the Fête de la Musique with a kick-off event on June 20 in the relevant partner district. And this year again we want to celebrate the Fête de la Musique on Sunday, June 20, at the Gärten der Welt in Marzahn.

Info on Streaming:

With over 50 channels and well over 100 live streamed concerts, the Fête de la Musique reinvented itself last year as a result of the pandemic: As Fête de la Haus-Musique and Berlin’s most diverse streaming music festival.

Obviously such a two-dimensional experience can’t replace the “real” concert feeling that happens when musicians and audience meet live. But it can be a great place to exchange and enjoy music when the pandemic puts a stop to everything else. This year we are also planning to start with the concept of a streaming festival:

You have until 21.5 to submit proposals for live streams that will be broadcast via our website (and social media channels).

Marzahn
Hellersdorf

Partner District 2021

The journey continues and this year takes us to the east of the city. After Lichtenberg, Treptow-Köpenick and Mitte, the partner district in 2021 is Marzahn-Hellersdorf – and it’s already clear that the district and the music lovers who live there will have some surprises in store. Marzahn-Hellersdorf has many green, friendly and inspiring places on offer, such as Biesdorf Castle, the Parkbühne, the village atmosphere around the Mühle, the Gärten der Welt, the Ahrensfelder Berge and the Wuhletal hiking trail, all of which have already been graced with music and culture.

But of course also urban centres like Helle Mitte or Landsberger Allee as a lifeline, with the ORWO-Haus being one of the largest rehearsal room complexes. We’ re looking forward to the collaborations and the surprises.

Europe-wide Singalong 2021

If we can, then we”ll see each other live! And if not, then you can see us via stream and sing along at home. Singing together is just loads of fun and belongs to the Fête de la Musique like icing on a cake.

DEFINITELY SING ALONG – MAYBE COME ALONG!

Climate protection can be fun too, and fits especially well with an event like the Fête de la Musique. In 2019, we started on the path to a more sustainable Fête, a path we want to take together with all event organisers and people involved. And for this journey, not only have we developed an action guide, which can be found on our website and provides important tips for events…

We have also committed ourselves to a Green Deal for the Fête de la Musique Berlin, which sets concrete goals for reducing waste, consumables and CO2 and gives us a clear framework for the coming years. This was drawn up by the two experts Jacob Bilabel (Green Music Initiative) and Dr. Birte Jung (specialist for sustainable events in public spaces). With workshops, advisory services and practical events, we will continue to work towards a Green Fête de la Musique in 2021.

We want to make the FETE greener: A proposal, plus an offer of assistance to aid in green event management.
