As part of Ashawo Cafe’s music festival weekend, Mariama will perform a 30 minute intimate set at the cafe at 8p Berlin time. Rooted in Afropean culture, mari.ama is an artist, singer songwriter, poet,
curator, moderator, workshop and meditation facilitator whose work reflects a
journey across continents and traditions. A Fulani nomad by heritage with
familial and cultural ties spanning Africa and Europe she embraces the
richness of these diverse influences in her artistry and practice of holding
space.

Das Ashawo Café ist ein Zentrum für Kultur, Kunst und politische Arbeit für Schwarze Sexarbeiterinnen, Migrantinnen und andere Menschen der Diaspora. Öffentliche Veranstaltungen richten sich an alle Mitglieder der Gemeinschaft, unabhängig von ihrem Hintergrund. Der Raum bietet intime Musik- und Kulturveranstaltungen, dient als Co-Working-Space und zeigt zwei dauerhafte Wandgemälde von lokalen Berliner Künstler*innen. Die jamericanische Küche serviert Speisen aus der kulinarischen Tradition Schwarzer US-amerikanischer und jamaikanischer Küche.
