There are two ways to participate at FêteBerlin:
1) Musicians have the opportunity to apply for one of the fixed locations (stages/venues) within the twelve districts of Berlin. Applications for FêteBerlin on 21st of June are to be submitted between 21st of November and 21st of February.
2) Spontaneous acoustic performances (unplugged! – without amplification! – without a PA system!) are permitted throughout the city of Berlin between 4pm and 10pm. Spontaneous acoustic outdoor performances do not require registration or application forms.
Acoustic music (unplugged!) is permitted and desired:
Thanks to a permit given by the Landes-Immissionsschutzgesetz Berlin (The State Pollution Act of Berlin) spontaneous acoustic musicians can perform annually on the 21st of June between 4pm and 10pm in all twelve Berlin districts.
Registration is not required. The permit is valid for all spontaneous acoustic music (unplugged – without amplification – without a PA system) on all public – not private – streets and squares, with the exception of performing near places such as hospitals, nursery homes, memorials, schools (when in session), churches and other places of worship.
Fête Company pays for all GEMA copyright licenses for FêteBerlin on behalf of the city with the kind support of LOTTO-Stiftung Berlin. Musicians with repertoires that are liable to GEMA are required to send in a GEMA playlist to Fête Company after FêteBerlin. The deadline is the 21st of August following the current FêteBerlin.
