Fête de la Musique | what’s allowed – and what’s not?

Fête de la Musique 2024 – It’s your Fête!
Here you can find out how to get involved and what to look out for.

Thank you for your interest in becoming part of the biggest music festival in the world! Thank you for making it possible for people all over the city to enjoy music on 21 June and celebrate the longest and most musical day of the year together.

How can you participate?

Musicians
On this page, we are mainly addressing musicians who can play spontaneously on the streets or in a planned way at one of the many music venues. Everyone is welcome to participate, whether you are a professional or a beginner, and regardless of your preferred musical style. You can apply for a slot on a stage/at a music venue via our matchmaking tool. If you prefer to play spontaneously and unamplified on the street, you can already find the guide for buskers here.

Organisers
What would the Fête de la Musique be without the numerous music venues all over the city? It doesn’t have to be a perfect festival stage designed for thousands of visitors – a music venue on 21 June can also be a community garden, a youth club, a hairdresser’s salon or a Späti. This information is therefore aimed at people, associations, initiatives, clubs, concert and cultural organisers who would like to organise a music venue. Here you can find out what you need to consider and do, and what we are happy to help you with.

Music Declares Emergency

Together with Music Declares Emergency Germany we ask you to use your stages also for the issues of climate justice and solidarity.
And it’s easy to do so: Play the audio interventions produced for you right before your concerts. Shortly before the performance, you can make a positive appeal to the audience.
You wonder what is said in it? Listen to it directly!

In addition, there is a poster to print out yourself, with which you can show that you support the message “No Music On A Dead Planet”.
To find out who Music Declares Emergency is and how you can become part of the movement, visit their website: www.musicdeclares.net

On the day of the Fête, there is one thing above all: celebration! However, the fact that the future of the event and music industry is threatened should not be kept quiet.
